Which fits to plot stuff, given that Dwarves have an ongoing problem/history with Demons, while Elves have an ongoing problem/history with Undead. they're basically a mirror image of Dwarves, only hating Undead more than Demons instead of the other way around like Dwarves do. 1 Morale for Dwarven presence in allies. 2 Morale for Demonic presence in allies. Every game will be slightly different, not only through picking a different class, but because many of the side quest areas, buildings and items are random.Like Dwarves, Elves can get a Morale bonus for all-inning on their kind.

I would say that if you are willing to forgo the typical character customization (look and appearance of your toon), and player character involvement in fighting, this is a great way to spend 50 plus hours. I did not have any crashes, nor did I notice any bugs. There is no real need for shadows, everything is modeled as a backdrop, again very similar to the Heroes of Might and Magic line. A very colorful world, yet it is of the cartoonish type, no blood, decapitation or nudity here. The graphical offerings are outstanding, simple, clean and well rendered.

I would say one of the most interesting aspects of the game is the ability to upgrade select items, in which you must combat the spirit of the item, to subdue it, which adds some very challenging battles in the game. There are some "moral dilemmas" that at this point are so intrinsic to RPGs, but the results of these choices are ambiguous beyond the obvious. The npc dialog has a fair amount of snarkyness, but is still kid friendly. Overall I would equate the battle to an advanced version of chess with magic. The AI provides a decent challenge, replenishing some of your most valuable units can be difficult, luckily you can store them and equip readily available units for tough fights. Character based magic is also very intuitive with a good amount of different spells, with a subset of magic disciplines, Chaos, Order and the like. Strategy is limited, but intuitive and the amount of unit specific abilities is impressive. The battle is hexagon based, very reminiscent of the Heroes of Might and Magic series, where initiative based turns are give to each of the units on the field and they take turns moving fighting, casting spells or firing at each other. There are many different unit types, also many items your character or his followers can equip, providing combat or stat bonuses, some are even unit or racially specific. You can mix and match a variety of units within a racial type, for example some demonic units and some undead units, there is morale and some races dislike working with each other and may revolt, for example most human units hate undead. The selection of armies is an important choice, and one that allows for great customization. It is a combat heavy game, though the player character is not directly involved in fighting, but rather directing and casting spells and other similar skills in the background. Character classes are one of the following: Warrior, Wizard or Paladin, you may increase the base skills for any of these three through trinkets that are found during the course of the game, these are also presented upon "leveling-up", allowing for some customization for your toon, but like most games it is far better to stick with one profession. The world is based on the Heroes of Might and Magic series, which is also where the original King's Bounty took place. From the start you may enter a fair number of territories, it is not freely an open world, however one can revisit areas. The storyline is rather simplistic and not unlike many fantasy games, it serves as a guide through the game. I have played this game for about 50 total hours King's Bounty the Legend is a single player only, turn based strategy with many classical RPG elements.
